OOTD: All Buttoned Up

8:30 AM

I decided to shop JCrew's 40% off sale last month and I bought this Petite Button-Front Tie-Waist Cotton Shirt. It felt dressy enough to wear to work professionally, but also casual enough to wear on a weekend. I've been searching for summer professional wear for a while and when I saw this shirt, I knew it was a perfect fit. Work wear can be very bland if you stick with nudes, grays and blacks. Those types of neutrals are perfect for fall and winter, but I want a pop of color for summer.

Most of my work wear for summer consists of light colors: whites, blues, pinks, nudes. It's very light and pastel-like to reflect the mood of summer. This shirt was another perfect addition to the closet. The Petite Button-Front Tie-Waist Cotton Shirt is extremely comfortable to wear and is very breathable. The tie in the front of the shirt gives it a bit of flair as well.

I'm also in love with the cut - it looks very militarian, but it fits my body pretty well and the tie gives the shirt some shape. I pair the shirt with white shorts for a more relaxed, weekend look and a pair of white pants for a more formal, work appropriate look. Either way, I wear my nude sandals with this shirt since they're super versatile! I bought these sandals during a Shoedazzle 50% off sale. You can always get your first pair for only $15 (including shipping)!
