Pineapples are all the rage now. I see them all over Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, and so much more. I've always liked pineapples - they're delicious and they keep me cool during the summer. I thought why not make cute pineapple nails?? They're the ultimate staple of summer. Who wouldn't want to rock cute pineapples on their cuticles? I know I do.
Before we go into the tutorial, these are the supplies you'll need:
Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil
Sally Hansen Nail Art Tool Kit
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Polish in 'Mellow Yellow' & 'Green Thumb' (and more colors if you'd like)
Okay...let's begin!
Step #1. Start with clean nails. If you have old nail polish, take it off with remover. I like to start off with a base coat. I believe in taking care of my nails. Though nail art makes my nails look pretty, I want them to feel pretty as well. I like the Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment. It's a base coat, top coat, growth treatment, strengthener, ridge-filler, brightener and moisturizing treatment (whoa, that was a mouthful!). Its' patented formula also prevents staining, which I tend to get when I paint my nails.
Step #2. Paint your nails with a fun, bright color! I chose this pretty red-orange shade. I put two coats on so the color could pop. Let your nails dry for about 5-10 minutes.

Step #4. Now, we're going to add the green leaves. Take out the small nail art brush and dip it into the 'Green Thumb' nail polish. Draw a straight line down to the yellow oval and add diagonal lines on both sides to create leaves. To add more dimension to the leaves, you can add a darker green or a lighter green color on top.
Step #5. Add the finishing touch to the pineapple design with a light brown polish. It will create the spikes on the pineapple skin. But before you finish, add a coat of the Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment. It'll keep your design smudge-free and your nails super shiny! I also like to add Nail & Cuticle Oil around each nail after I'm finished. It keeps my cuticles moisturized and healthy.
If you're wondering where to pick up these amazing Sally Hansen products, I went to my local Target and found the Sally Hansen section in the Beauty aisle (picture below). I mentioned a few of the nail care products from Sally Hansen, but their full line is on their website here.
