Give Me Some Nude Lip + Skincare Giveaway (Ended)

8:30 AM

I always love Sephora's lip kits (I have written a product review on a Nude Lip Kit before). I'm a huge lip junkie and I keep fueling my lip addiction in different ways. The lip kits are a great way to sample different lip products without having to commit to a full-size of one just yet. This set was actually on sale at Sephora for only $14. How could I resist?! Let's take a look at the 6 lip products in this set:

I haven't tried many of these lip products before. I have used Smashbox, Urban Decay and Tarte lipsticks previously, but they were different from the ones offered in this box. I'm excited to see if these live up to the ones I already own. There might be a summer favorite in here somewhere....

I like this color, it's very natural to my lips (MLBB). Color applies nicely and keeps my lips hydrated throughout the day. This is an everyday nude that I can wear to the office, while I'm out running errands or even for dinner with friends. The color does wipe off easily - when I eat or drink, the color transfers on to whatever my lips touch. That's a downside for me. I like products with longer wear so I can avoid reapplying ever few hours.

This is a definite no for me. The color is way too light and it makes my lips look invisible! They blend in too much with the rest of my face. The product itself goes on really well - it gives off a lot of color with just one swipe and the color really does stay with you all day long. It doesn't transfer at all when I eat or drink. I may get this product, but in a better color.

I knew I wasn't going to like this item from the start because I don't like lip gloss. It's sticky and it doesn't have a whole lot of color to it. This one had a peppermint smell and when I applied it on my lips, it had a tingly sensation as well. It was odd. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that, but I'm not a fan. I won't be using this one again.

I love this pop of color - it's more red than nude though. Not sure how this ended up in this nude lip set, but I'm not complaining! It's a little on the darker side, so maybe not the best for summer, but I can totally see myself rocking this lip color for fall or winter.

I'm a little hesitant about this lip color. I like the little shine that it adds, but I think the overall color is too light for me. Maybe I can save this for when I get tanner over the summer and I can rock it again. I really like the application - it goes on smooth and keeps my lips feeling hydrated all day long. This lipstick does transfer easily though, so eating and drinking should be kept to a minimum.

This was not in the lip set, but I wanted to show what the Special Effects Top Coat would look like on top of lipstick. I put on a nude-ish lipstick I already own from Urban Decay. This is what it looks like without the top coat. Scroll down to see how the top coat changes the lip color!
