OOTD: Ankle Length Dress & Nude Booties8:30 AM
I was browsing at Kohl's one day after having lunch with my fiance and his mom and this purple dress caught my eye. Even on the rack, I could tell it was unique. The hem is asymmetrical and the pattern is a little distorted and kind of geometrical - it has kind of an Aztec feel too? Maybe it's just me, but the dress drew me in. I knew I had to get it. The size was right for me at an 'XS', but they didn't have a petite option. I went ahead and bought it anyway because at $15, I don't mind having to make some minor adjustments!
The dress actually ended up being a little big on me, especially at the top. My torso is shorter than what the dress was designed for, so I had to adjust it a bit. I'll actually show you guys how to make the adjustments later this month in another blog post. Be sure to check it out if you have the same problems as me!
I've already made the alterations to the dress, so this is what it looks like on me after the adjustments. Looks like a good fit right?
I paired this outfit with these nude Rika booties from Shoedazzle. This was my very first pair from them, only $14.95 ($10 shoes with $4.95 shipping)! If you haven't joined Shoedazzle yet, you can get your first pair for $14.95 and every pair after for $39.95. You also get access to exclusive sales (I actually bought a few more pairs of shoes for just $24 that I'll be sharing on the blog soon).
For accessories, I have my nude Coach bag with gold plated rings in the shape of a pineapple and cactus from Forever 21. I have to admit, I still shop at F21 sometimes for their jewelry. They have some pretty good finds!
I'm excited to wear this dress out more once spring rolls around, I just need the weather to get on the same page. It's 65 degrees one day and then 20 degrees with snow the next. I'm not even sure how to dress anymore....
