Dermablend Quick Fix Concealer in Medium
I used to use the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick as my concealer and it worked during the cooler months, but it doesn't stand a chance against the heat. The foundation basically melts off my face, regardless of whether I use setting powder or not. Ick! So I was on my search to find another concealer, one that wouldn't break down so easily. I've heard great things about Dermablend and how their face products offer amazing coverage. I actually googled the brand online and saw the Zombie Boy video. I was so impressed! If you're not familiar with it, check it out here. Essentially, Dermablend "erased" all of the tattoos on Zombie Boy's body with their cover up products. It was very cool.
Anyway, I picked up the Quick Fix Concealer in Medium. After seeing the Zombie boy video, I had high expectations for the coverage. And I must say it lives up to the hype! It covered my acne scars very well, and the coverage lasts all day and night. I expected the concealer to be heavy since it has such good coverage, but it doesn't feel heavy at all. It also blends in well with my foundation (I use a powder) and isn't cakey at all. The easy applicator is another huge plus.
LUSH Cosmetics Angels on Bare Skin
I'm not going to go into this too much, since I raved about it last week. To give a short summary, facial scrubs do not work on my face (I have really sensitive skin), until I tried this product. It's natural, moisturizing and doesn't leave my face feeling dry and tight. Read my full review here.
em michelle phan dramatic volume mascara
This mascara is seriously amazing. My lashes are sad and flat. They're straight as a pin and fail to curve even with the best mascaras on the market. I'll curl them, throw on a few coats of a name-worthy mascara, and they'll end up flat again in a couple of hours. I'm not sure what it is about the em mascara, but it works. This is one of the few mascaras that keeps the curl held in place for the whole day. I much prefer the waterproof version of this mascara. The formula is more lightweight and it withstands the heat and sweat a lot better than the regular one. I couldn't find it anywhere in my apartment, so I took a picture of the non-waterproof one. The only difference is that there's a blue line on the bottle indicating that it's waterproof.
Maybelline Glaze Cheeks in Warm Nude
I was looking for the perfect product that would give me that gorgeous summer glow. I passed by the Maybelline section in the store and the Master Glaze cheeks caught my eye. A lot of the colors were very bright, but I was going for something more subtle. I saw the Warm Nude color and I fell in love. I tried it on immediately when I got home. I was disappointed. The color is nice for sure, but I wish it was a little more tinted. The product has a lot of sparkle and glitter, which is a huge downside for me. I already have oily skin, I don't need more shine to be directed towards my face. This would probably be nice for winter, when my cheeks need some color to them. If the cheek glaze was matte and had just a little more color to it, I would've been satisfied. Overall, not the worst product, but not the best one I've tried either.
Urban Decay Beauty Balm in Medium
I love Urban Decay, everything I've gotten from them so far has exceeded expectations. I'm sad to say that this product didn't deliver for me though. the Medium hue is on point with my skin tone, which is nice. But the formula is very heavy and greasy. It makes me skin very oily, and the coverage SUCKS. It's not even a BB cream, it's more like a tinted moisturizer. It might minimize my pores and fine lines by a little, but it doesn't reduce redness for me at all. Maybe it's just my skin type, but the beauty balm is not for me.
