It's been a week since I moved to my new apartment and I'm already planning my housewarming party. Probably need to decorate the place a bit more before I actually have it, but I pretty much know what I want to do. I really want to amp up my DIY-ing, so I plan on making everything from scratch for the housewarming party. Here's what I'm focusing on:
Parties require some extra oomph. Whether it's little lights hanging around your windowsill or a few extra candles in the living room, we all add a little something something to our homes when we have guests coming over. What I think would be a wow piece is a bouquet of flowers. I love fresh flowers, but there's not a single flower shop near me.
But then, thanks to the interwebs, I found out about Bloominous. They're like this DIY service for floral arrangements. You order from their wide range of floral designs, they ship you all of the materials and the pre-cut and de-thorned flowers and you put together the final arrangement. It makes DIYing a floral arrangement hassle-free! I have yet to try this service out yet, but when I do, you'll definitely see photos and a review. One of my favorite collections from Bloominous is their Vintage Cotton collection (see pic below). The colors are soft and light, which really lightens up a room.

Food & Drink
Every party has delicious food and drank. I'm already scrolling through Pinterest, furiously pinning things to my 'Food & Drinks' board. Here's what the menu is looking like so far:

I might potentially do a pot luck for my housewarming party. It's much more fun when everyone cooks and brings something to the table, plus cooking a 3 course meal for 10+ people is pretty intimidating.
I love giving gifts. I know if you're hosting a housewarming, you technically receive gifts, but it wouldn't be me if I didn't give a little something in return. I was thinking of DIYing something small, a little memento for all of my guests. And all of the sudden, POP. I got it. I would give them a small mason jar full of candy! I was so excited about the idea that I went ahead and bought all the materials and made the gifts already. I'm crazy, I know. They turned out amazing though!
